IN THE HISTORIC FAR WEST COMMUNITY Located at SoggyBottom Camp (Approx. 1 mi. East from the Far West Country Store), a log cabin store built to duplicate what it might have looked like during the 1800s. Imagine a town set in the 1800s bustling with people, stores, cabins, one room school houses, and once was the county seat of Caldwell County. A frontier town and community that held the activity of approx. 4,000 people. This area is rich in History, and even though it is not the bustling town it once was, it is a beautiful place to visit, reminisce of days gone by. Get in touch with the beauty of nature, that this part of the territory was blessed with. An antique armoire contains the cooking supplies that you could use to prepare your own delicious meals. Amenities avail.: T.V, with DVD , Air Cond., Microwave, Apart. size fridge, Toaster oven, Electric table top grilling machine. Coffee maker, gas grill on deck, skillets and utensils, for use on the Indoor wood stove, or outside the lodge in front of the 600 sq. ft. open porch, is a Fire pit for your use also. The woodstove inside the lodge has a flip up lid on top the stove, that exposes the grill that can be used to cook your favorite meat, it cooks steaks to perfection! Have the uniqueness of an outdoor campfire, and the convenience of eating your food indoors in a beautiful cedar lined lodge, while looking out the large picture window at the wood burning in the fire pit, or sitting on the huge open porch and taking in the outdoor aromas. The porch has a concrete picnic table that seats 8, and other porch seating to accommodate you.
Frequent sites while looking out the window are deer and turkey crossing the southern pasture, heading into the timber that lines this area.
ONlY ADULTS ARE ALLOWED TO USE THE WOOD STOVE AND GAS GRILL. CHILDREN NEED TO BE UNDER DIRECT SUPERVISION AT ALL TIMES.

This lodge has approx. 700 sq. ft. of indoor space. (smoking is not allowed inside.) From this view you can see the loft, with antique spindle railing, and has two twin beds. Below the loft is an antique cherry wood bed, antique glass ball footed round table that will seat 6, an antique chest for the addnl. bedding. Leather couch with two recliners that recline "way" back, and could be slept on.
Now for the "in" outhouse experience. A cedar lined shower/sauna room. Towels provided. This space has a far infrared dry sauna for your use, age 16 and above only. Normally a sauna such as this one costs a min. of $10 per one session, (a session is 45 min.), if you go to a spa and use one, but there are no addnl. charges here. This room is conveniently located in your lodge space and is only used by you and your party. All of this indoor atmosphere is surrounded by the outdoor atmosphere, avail. for your enjoyment, of Hunting, Hiking, Fishing, Geocaching, Biking, 2 1/2 mi. of creek exploration, & bird watching. Bald Eagles have been spotted flying around the SoggyBottom Campground/wetland areas. Fees: prices subject to change daily. A minimum 2 night stay is required. Check in time: 4:00 p.m./check-out time 12:00 noon. $100 for two adults per night, each addnl. person over the age of 12 is $20 per night, max. of (4) people per night. If staying only 1 night, fee is $150. Concerning Children, age restrictions apply and a fee of $5.00 per child is required. Continental breakfast will be provided. This is a unique bed and breakfast experience. |
